Counterintelligence - Phase of intelligence covering activity designed to neutralize the effectiveness of adversary intelligence collection activities. Those activities concerned with identifying and counteracting the security threat posed by hostile intelligence services, organizations, or by individuals engaged in espionage, sabotage, subversion, or terrorism.
